With over a decade of experience as a career nanny, early childhood educator, and certified Doula, Raven has dedicated her life to supporting families and caregivers. She founded The Heart State Nanny Agency to create a community built on trust, personalized care, and long-term relationships—bridging the gaps she experienced firsthand in the childcare industry.

A proud member of the International Nanny Association, Raven blends professionalism with her vibrant personality. When she’s not leading her agency, she’s exploring her love for cooking, giraffes, and Scotland, or adding to her collection of Taylor Swift tattoos. Through The Heart State Nanny Agency, Raven is redefining what it means to truly care for families and nannies.

Megan Johnson

Megan has always been fueled by curiosity, creativity, and a love for adventure. Her career as a professional nanny allows her to wear many hats—whether she’s leading scientific discoveries on a nature hike, channeling her inner artist with glitter and paint, or building culinary masterpieces with her nanny kids. Every day brings new opportunities to inspire curiosity, creativity, and growth in the children she cares for.

As Megan’s passion for childcare deepened, so did her commitment to professional development. She pursued training in newborn care, trauma-informed practices, connection-centered discipline, early childhood development, and more. Along the way, she became a mentor and advocate within the nanny community, encouraging others to elevate industry standards and embrace continued learning.

  • We hosted interNational Nanny Training Day in Columbus in 2026, the first in nearly 15 years, because we believe continued education makes better caregivers.

  • Both of our founders were named Top 5 Finalists for INA Nanny of the Year 2026, one of the most competitive recognitions in the nanny industry.

Our daughter was a 1-pound micro preemie who was on the medically fragile side of things.  Obviously when we brought her home from the hospital, it was of supreme importance to us that whoever was taking care of her was the right fit. From day one, Raven loved our daughter and watched over her with meticulous care.

She engaged Jenna in age appropriate ways. Raven helped with activities suggested by therapists to keep Jenna moving towards her developmental milestones and she celebrated Jenna’s “wins” and progress just as much as we did.

When we unexpectedly added our son through foster care literally overnight, Raven rolled with the situation and nurtured and loved our new little guy as well.

Our home was a place of music, laughter, and creativity with Raven around. I have no doubt that the great start that Jenna had with Raven was a significant factor in her being the confident, joyful, and independent 8-year-old she is today. Raven is family - forever.
